Minister of MOHIA Assesses Services Provided to Afghan Pilgrims in Madinah Wednesday, 1 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 27 Jawza 1405
Excellency Sheikh-ul-Hadith Dr. Noor Mohammad Saqib, Minister of MOHIA, while assessing the services provided to Afghan pilgrims and reviewing the activities of the operational committees of the Hajj Mission in Madinah, convened a meeting with the officials of the Hajj Mission to further streamline the process of transporting and repatriating pilgrims from Madinah to Afghanistan.
The meeting was attended by Mawlawi Mohammad Hamid Haseeb, Deputy Minister for Professional Affairs and Head of the Hajj Mission in Madinah; Sheikh Gul Rahman Al-Madani, Hajj Consul; as well as the heads of various operational committees of the Hajj Mission.
At the outset of the meeting, the Honorable Minister expressed his satisfaction with the successful and orderly completion of the Hajj process. He stated that, by the grace of Allah and through the sincere, dedicated, and tireless efforts of the mission officials, staff members, and Hajj instructors, all Hajj-related affairs had been carried out successfully, and valuable services had been provided to Afghan pilgrims in all required areas. He emphasized that until the complete return of the pilgrims from Madinah to Afghanistan, all services and activities should continue with the same spirit of sincerity, responsibility, commitment, and high standards.
Minister Saqib instructed the committees responsible for transportation, accommodation, catering, healthcare services, missing persons and deceased pilgrims, and other relevant committees to ensure the provision of quality and appropriate services within their respective areas of responsibility. He also directed the Rituals Committee (Manasik Committee) to facilitate the regular and organized visits of pilgrims to Rawdah Al-Jannah and other historical and sacred sites in Madinah, alongside their attendance at the five daily prayers in Al-Masjid An-Nabawi.
In order to safeguard the rights of pilgrims, the Minister highlighted the importance of settling and ensuring transparency in financial accounts with contracted companies. He stressed that all Hajj-related expenditures and financial accounts must be settled completely and transparently to prevent any infringement upon the rights of the pilgrims.
The Honorable Minister also placed special emphasis on the orderly return of pilgrims to Afghanistan and instructed the relevant authorities to pay close attention to the transportation process so that all pilgrims may return to the country safely, systematically, and with dignity.
Subsequently, Mawlawi Mohammad Hamid Haseeb, Deputy Minister for Professional Affairs and Head of the Hajj Mission in Madinah, presented a comprehensive report on the activities of the various committees operating in Madinah and assured the meeting of their full preparedness to provide quality services. He stated that, to date, 10,039 Afghan pilgrims had arrived in Madinah from Makkah and had all been accommodated in standard facilities located within the central area near Al-Masjid An-Nabawi.
He further reported that the Rituals Committee had thus far facilitated the visits of 7,406 pilgrims to Rawdah Al-Jannah, while an additional 6,220 pilgrims had visited other historical and sacred sites in Madinah.
It is noteworthy that, to date, a total of 14,989 pilgrims have been transported to Afghanistan through 48 flights from Jeddah International Airport, while 587 pilgrims have been transferred through 2 flights from Madinah Airport to airports across the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Honorable Minister provided the relevant officials with the necessary guidance and recommendations aimed at improving coordination and further enhancing the quality of services
