On the 10th of Safar al-Muthafar 1447 AH, corresponding to the 14th of Asad 1404 SH

The Ministry of MOHIA of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Tuesday, commenced the process of refunding the extra money collected from the expenses of Hajj for the year 1446 AH during a press conference held at the Government Information and Media Center.
Attending this grand event were Sheikh al-Hadith, Dr. Noor Muhammad Saqib, deputy ministers, heads of central departments, and representatives from the media.
The gathering began with the recitation of several verses from the Holy Quran, after which the Minister of MOHIA provided explanations regarding the reimbursement of the extra funds collected from the pilgrims. He stated that, by the grace and assistance of Almighty Allah, in the year 1446 AH, corresponding to 1404 SH, based on the quota determined by Saudi Arabia, the Ministry successfully sent 30,000 pilgrims to the holy sites, all of whom returned safely and in good health after performing their Hajj rituals.
Mr. Saqib added that according to accurate calculations, a total amount of 8,278,777,320 Afghanis was collected from the pilgrims, which was received individually at a rate of 282,090 Afghanis per pilgrim. After final and precise calculations of Hajj expenses, the total amount reached 8,163,312,537.59 Afghanis, making the expense per pilgrim 278,154.19 Afghanis.
The Minister of MOHIA mentioned that from the total amount received from the pilgrims, an amount of 115,464,782.41 Afghanis remains. The Ministry will refund 3,936 Afghanis to each pilgrim.
Mr. Saqib concluded his remarks by stating that the remaining funds belonging to the pilgrims are securely held in banks as their rightful claim. Starting today (Wednesday, 15 Asad), pilgrims can collect their refunds by presenting their original and colored copies of their identification cards and passports at the Hajj Complex in Kabul or at the Departments of Guidance, Hajj, and Awqaf in the provinces.
