Major Activities of the Ministry of MOHIA During the Holy Month of Ramadan

The Ministry MOHIA, with the aim of honoring the holy month of Ramadan, explaining the significance of this blessed month in the lives of Muslims, reviving religious rituals, further strengthening the intellectual and moral values of society, and providing organized religious services to the citizens, has— in addition to the twenty-two (22) districts of Kabul city and in all thirty-four (34) provinces of the country—appointed and assigned three thousand four hundred (3,400) distinguished Qur’an reciters through a competitive examination process. These reciters have been deployed to hundreds of grand, central, and well-known mosques to lead the completion (Khatm) of the Holy Qur’an during Tarawih prayers, so that during this blessed month of the revelation of the Holy Qur’an, the devout Muslims of the country may benefit from the blessings, virtues, and divine light of the Word of Allah, and so that the spirit of brotherhood and Islamic unity among them may be further strengthened and consolidated.
Furthermore, in addition to preparing, printing, and distributing Ramadan timetables for Suhoor and Iftar based on Islamic jurisprudential guidelines and astronomical calculations for the districts of Kabul city and all provinces of the country, the Ministry has also organized and launched a special series on the virtues and rulings of the holy month of Ramadan. This series will be delivered regularly to citizens through mosque pulpits during Friday prayer sermons by imams and preachers.
As is known to our esteemed citizens, during the months of Sha‘ban and Ramadan, the Ministry has also launched educational and guidance programs on the translation and exegesis (Tafsir) of the Holy Qur’an in four hundred and eleven (411) major military centers across the country, conducted by prominent scholars and respected religious leaders. These programs are broadcast live and regularly in both national languages (Pashto and Dari) through Radio Television Afghanistan, enabling all citizens to benefit from the meanings, guidance, and rulings of this divine Book.
To evaluate the educational process of the ongoing translation and Tafsir courses, as well as to ensure proper supervision and better organization of these programs, the Ministry has dispatched special academic and supervisory delegations to all 411 centers where these courses are being conducted.
Moreover, with the approaching Hajj season, the Ministry has continued to carry forward Hajj-related affairs swiftly and systematically during the holy month of Ramadan. The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs remains committed to further expanding and enhancing its services to promote Islamic values in society and to broaden religious awareness among citizens.
The Ministry calls upon all citizens to increase their recitation, reflection, and contemplation of the Holy Qur’an during this blessed month. It also urges wealthy citizens to extend cooperation and assistance to the poor, widows, orphans, and those in need
